Nazare Inez Sambo at the age of 105 entered into eternal life on Thursday, March 14th 2024. She was surrounded with her loving family. Avo was born in Lobito Angola. She was the wife of Manuel Antiono Diogo. She was the mother of 7 children. Jose Fernando (Zito) & Rosalina Cardoso of Lisbon, Rosa (Princesa) & Jose Silva of Central Falls RI, Manuel (Brazil) & Luisa Diogo of Lisbon, Manuel Sambo Diogo of lisbon, Alberto (Estrela) Diogo of Lisbon. She was the daughter of the late Margarida Leopordo and Manuel Sambo.

Avó was taught by the Nuns at the age of 14 to become a seamstress. She was well know in her neighborhood as the go to person to fix any material. In Portugal, after the passing of her late husband most of her time was dedicated to her Church, helping the sick, and the parishioners. She was very active in her catholic community and loved attending mass daily.

Avó first came to America in 2000 to visit thereafter she joined her family and settled permanently here in Rhode Island.

Avó was a proud grandmother of 22 children, 38 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren. Avó was hardly ever seen without her sweet smile. Her caring and unselfish heart lit up every room she was in. It was well known that if you were married and had a husband, she would most definitely be stealing him from you. Avó was also well known for always asking if you’ve eaten? And “how’s your family?”
She was always the fire cracker of the party and loved dancing.

She will be dearly missed by all who knew her especially family and friends.

Family and friends are invited to calling hours Friday March 22, 4:00 - 7:00pm at Keefe Funeral Home, located 5 Higginson Ave., Lincoln. Her funeral will be held on Saturday March 23 at 9:30am with a Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Spirit Church, 1030 Dexter St., Central Falls. The burial will directly follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Pawtucket.
